Together in Faith: Parish Action Plans
After a year of meetings, discussions, strategy sessions, presentations, reactions from parish-baed planning groups, and input from an archdiocesan-appointed council, along with consultations on next steps regarding Together In Faith, Phase Two— involving parishioners, appointed lay leaders, pastors, auxiliary bishops, and the archbishop—the decisions from Archbishop Vigneron are now available online.

'Red Hat Day' at the Vatican

Placing red hats on their heads and calling them to lives of even greater love and service to the Church, Pope Benedict creates 22 new cardinals, including Americans Timothy Dolan of New York, and Edwin O'Brien, the former archbishop of Baltimore. In a moving address to the College of Cardinals on evangelization, Cardinal Dolan, known for his sense of humor and contagious charm, made the pope laugh.

New Rector Named for Seminary
Fr. Todd Lajiness
Msgr. Todd Lajiness, the dean of studies at Sacred Heart Major Seminary since 2003, has been named the seminary's new rector/president. As of May 5, he will succeed current rector Msgr. Jeffrey Monforton. Detroit's seminary has 115 men currently studying for the priesthood, along with hundreds of lay students.
